General corporate tax advice
We advise companies on all their corporate tax matters, such as R&D tax incentives, the DRD regime, transfer pricing and tax-transparent vehicles. We regularly request tax rulings from the Belgian Ruling Commission on a broad range of topics.
Our focus is both on domestic tax matters as well as on international tax structures. For non-Belgian tax matters, we team up with the local firm that is best placed to deliver a high-quality legal advice for a transparent and mutually acceptable price.
We assist private equity and other investment funds, in close cooperation with the corporate team, in their tax structuring and in the implementation of the management incentive schemes.
The experience that we have built up in the framework of transactions, tax litigation, due diligence exercises and in-house advisory services enables us to provide our clients with pragmatic, commercially savvy, directly applicable tax advice.
Tax aspects of transactions
We assist businesses in handling the tax aspects of all their transactions, ranging from M&A, capital market transactions to real estate transactions.
All related tax matters are dealt with in this respect, with the exception of customs and excise duties for which we would team up with specialised firms. We follow a similar approach for transactions which require input on non-Belgian tax matters.
Our tax advisory services are provided in close cooperation with our corporate team in order to ensure that all legal and tax aspects are implemented properly in the legal documentation and that they are correctly applied during the lifetime of the transaction/business.
Optimisation of compensation packages
We advise our clients on the implementation of national or international share and share-based incentive plans. We also advise our clients on the optimisation of the compensation packages of their executives and employees. We cooperate closely with the corporate team in this respect to ensure that the implemented incentive plans comply with all legal constraints and embeds the appropriate tax and social security treatment.
